How to get from the airport to the city center?
There is excellent public transport from the airport to the city:
The S1 and the S8 trains travel between the city centre and the airport on a regular basis and takes about 40 minutes. For one person, please purchase ‘Single Gesamnetz’ for 10 Euros. For more than one person, please purchase ‘Partner Gesamnetz’ for 18 Euros. The ticket needs to be validated and then kept on your person in case of inspection. We will reimburse this ticket so please do not throw it away.
To go to the hotel, please get off at either Marienplatz or Hauptbahnhof. From Marienplatz, you can take either a taxi to the hotel or the U3 / U6 to Odeonplatz in the north direction. When you arrive to “Hauptbahnhof” you can take either a taxi or the U4 / U5 to “Odeonplatz” in the north-east direction.

Here is some information how to get to the MCG by public transportation:
- by subway: Take the “U4” to “Arabellapark” or the “U5” to “Neuperlach Süd” and get off at “Lehel”.
- by bus: Take the “Bus 100” to “Ostbahnhof” and get off at “Reitmorstraße”. (This is the most convenient way from the hotel, the bus will leave from "Odeonsplatz")
- by “Tram”: Take the “Tram 17” and get off at “Nationalmuseum/Haus der Kunst”.

When you arrive in the hotel, you will receive the folder with your badge. Please take them both to the conference on Tuesday. You will also find a 3-day city-centre ticket which you should validate before using and then keep with you during your stay in Munich.

At 19.45 we will pick you up at the Hotel Carlton Astoria (foyer) and we will go together to the Restaurant “Alta Marea”. If you prefer, you can go directly to the restaurant.
